5 months

So with all the craziness going on between my surgery, Christmas, and the New Year’s the twins hit 5 months December 28th.  I still can’t get over how fast time flies by!  We are finally getting back into our normal routine.

The girls don’t go back to the pediatrician until 6 months so we don’t have any stats on their weight and height.

Where we are at this month:

They are both still in Size 2 diapers and wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothes. The clothes are fitting perfectly right now!

They both finally got better at doing tummy time and have now figured out how to get out of it by rolling over the second you put them down!  They love playing with their toys and no matter what the size it goes straight to their mouths!  They are chewing on anything and everything and drooling like crazy!  We are still working on the sitting without support.  When we have them sitting they do a pretty good job but will sometimes lean too far forward or backwards and fall over.

The girls are eating every 4-4.5 hrs and taking in 6-7 oz bottles.  We can’t decide if it is a short lived growth spurt or if they are ready to move up in ounces!  We also introduced avocados and with the first few bites they enjoyed it, then all the sudden they are spitting it out and gagging!  So the next night I blended in some bananas and they chowed down!

Sleep has been up and down lately.  We definitely hit the 4 month sleep regression, which can happen anywhere between the end of 3 months – 5 months.  My surgery recovery didn’t help either.  They went a whole week only seeing me a few minutes a day and that is not what they are used to.  Then I had to have someone come over to help me with the kids for two weeks since I wasn’t able to lift anything.  Again throwing their normal routine off.  I am now able to hold and lift them so our routine is back to normal, but now they are congested.  Rylee has a cold with a cough and congestion going on a week and a half and Skylee just seems to get congested occasionally at night.  So we are still not sleeping the greatest but after speaking to a nurse at the pediatricians office we will hopefully be past this by the end of the week.

Skylee –

This sweet girl seems to be very particular about things and likes things to be a certain way.  She didn’t handle the last week I had to have help well at all and was very happy to have things back to normal. She had lots of screaming fits!

Likes: cuddling, babbling and smiling, big sisters, sleep, sitting up(in boppy or bumbo), Rylee, clean diaper, binky, eating, sucking on fingers and toes, momma

Dislikes: Sitting alone, dirty diaper, sisters bothering you, fighting sleep, tummy time, losing the binky, when schedule gets interrupted, waiting to eat

This baby girl seems to be very easy going and didn’t seem to be as bothered by the routine being off.  She has always been easy going though!  Happy to go to anyone as long as she is in a good mood!

Likes: babbling and smiling, sleep, binky, touching Skylee, big sisters, eating, cuddling, sucking on fingers and toes, tv, sitting, rolling over

Dislikes: Skylee touching her face, tummy time, waiting to eat, being alone
